My first thought when these tyres appeared at ‘Chez Lovejoy’ was "phwoor…nice tread", my second thought was "how many half-shafts have these little bleeders broken in their time?" I like re-moulds, mainly ‘cos I’m poor and off a restricted budget, however when you buy a re-mould you pay a two-fold price. The first being a potential for poor ‘build quality’ with some manufacturers – I hasten to add here that those lovely people from Colway whose tyres I have used for almost two decades are beyond reproach in this category. The second in being that re-moulds generally have a softer compound and thus wear quicker, hence faster replacement. The Bronco Diamond Backs are of a generic pattern used by a fair number of tyre and re-mould manufactures the world over, however this pattern does vary within its confines – for example a Bronco Diamond Back appears to have much larger shoulder lugs, it is also nearer a 90% profile than a n 80% profile. Both of these points can have both good and bad results… as we shall see later dear reader.
