It is a very thick, deep black anodized (both sides) aluminum foil that is easily formed, safe to use, and flameproof. It is rated at 89% solar absorption, the same as black chrome. Blackflex Also has a very low level of emissivity (reflection of radiant energy). Since it is not painted, it's very hard to scratch, and it does not smell or emit gasses when heated.
