Built for the (83-88) Ford Thunderbird... For extremely modified drag race and pulling engines, or applications that call for a slipper clutch/progressive torque-induced engagement. These clutches are best ordered as custom configured and should be ordered after providing specific information about the car. Sport pressure plates have 150 to 200 pounds of extra clamping force to hold the power of your mild upgrades. These upgrades include better exhaust, better intake, cams, chips, and boost controllers.
Sport Series clutch kits are available with both street discs and RPS’s unique sprung hub 6-puck disc. These discs use progressive springs for smoother engagement and inflect much less stress on the transmission than solid hub discs.
“European” style puck material is used exclusively for better drivability and longer life. RPS also has created a special rivet and assembly procedure designed to extend the clutch’s life even more. Most ideal for bolt-on performance upgrades (BPU) such as air intake, exhaust system, ignition system, fuel system and adjustable cam gears.
